That step can be done once LocalUI starts and I see the browser. But seconds after localUI starts, I get that error, and the whole system becomes unresponsive. The only thing I have managed to do is to connect through ssh and disable localui. Then the system works ok (without touchscreen, that is).

In another SD card I have MoOde Beta 11, working ok with Touchscreen. If I put in that card, everything works ok.

I may to build for a third time, but first I'd like to know this is even possible.

Can somebody confirm they have MoOde 4.0 working with an official Touchscreen?

Almost everything you enter in moOde is stored in clear text. This includes your WiFi credentials and your TIDAL, Google Play Music, and QOBUZ credentials. I suspect this is true for many rival players as well.

Now that I have tested that Google Play Music works in moOde 4.0 I think I'm going to delete my account from it. Why? While the other music services stand alone, your Google Play Music credentials are your Google account credentials. If someone were to grab them and you haven't enabled two-factor authentication in Google, then they could impersonate you on Gmail, buy items on your account in the Google Play Store, and otherwise do material harm.

Obviously, two-factor authentication is becoming a necessity on the Google end, yet a recent report says fewer than 1 in 10 Gmail users have enabled it. On the home front, a strong firewall on your network, use of good non-default login passwords everywhere, and other good security practices should be employed but I'd bet the 1-in-10 number applies here too.

Just my gloomy 2-cents worth.

Kent
As a couple of extras.

For Qobuz you can enter the MD5 hash of your password, this does not work on the website only the API.

For Google you should enable 2fa and then assign an application password to your mood player. There is a link upmpdcli website I will try and dig up.

I think this is why the upmpdcli programmer tried to change the owner and permissions on the config file to the upmpdcli user. However that seemed to cause issues.

Thanks for info Tim and Kent, this is the second build I have tried. I had the same wifi problem in the first build. Perhaps it will be third time lucky :-)

Of course these are not total mitigations and Kent's recommendations about your firewall and changing your Moode PW are advisable.

I'm in the office and I will try again tonight but I suspect I'm on a different issue.
Let me explain better.

As I mentioned in my post I originally tried the "manual" way.

Started by flashing a Stretch image, then followed the various steps taking them from the 2.3 procedure script.

Going through the list, I issued the various "sudo reboot" commands after each "STEP", and all went well. I mean, after the reboot the system regularly came up again, I could ssh into it, it stayed stable and I could go on issuing more configuration commands until the subsequent reboot.
All OK. Until step 9.

After rebooting after step 8, in facts, the system does come up, I can ssh into it, but shortly after I start issuing STEP 9 commands it goes down (SSH connection is lost).
Green light on the Pi stays solid green, but the system won't apparently actually reboot, letting me regain control and continue the procedure.
I did not "wait for long", tbh.

Again, I'll try again tonight and I'll let you know.

Ciao
Alberto
Is there a reason you are issuing commands manually and not running it as a script, as it was intended?

Hi @kit1cat,

The mpc command should not have to be run manually if the build was clean. Both the manual Build Recipe and the automated Image Builder include that command at the end of the step below.

STEP 9 - Alsaequal

Maybe try looking at /home/pi/mosbuild.log for any errors...

@Serverbaboon

Thanks for that. I had not twigged on the notion of a Google "application password".

Hope nobody was and will be affected in the future. My father in law has a company PC unfortunately without updated windows and this malware encrypted all standard files (docs, pictures, pdfs etc.) no way to bring it back so I am scary.
Thanks to my IT colleague and 3 days of research we found a way how to share WIN10 files without spacieal setup. Just need to create/use account with password, than share files (add mentioned account permission) and the most important thing to do is wuallaaaa use Mount flags like this: vers=2.0 no need to use SMB 1.0 in windoze
Enjoy!

Quick question for the 4.0 builder (sorry not clear):

Does it install the Image on sd-card of builder (same card) or on a second one, connected with an USB adapter like the beta12 did ?
