Hi i'm trying to hook up a tv to a computer through the s-video out on the graphics card to a svideo to composite video cable to a tv.
The output comes in black and white....
I've read somewhere you can get an adaptor that changes or decouples a dc offset to remedy this problem. IE, a certain dc offset causes the tv to switch into black-and-white mode. Any ideas?

How are you combining the Y and C lines? Just shorting them together? You may need a bit of resistance to effectively mix the signals like 75-Ohm in series with each of Y and C before combining them. A small capacitor in series with the C line will remove any DC offset, say 0.1uF ought to work fine.
