Regardless of who qualifies and who doesn't, and whether or not I my name is picked, I just wanted to echo others sentiments and applaud and thank Jason for how smoothly the entry process went yesterday. Not an easy task, took a lot of work and preparation. Thanks again, not just for this one lottery event, but for all you do for this community.
+1.
Good on ya Jason!
@ Soundhappy So there is an amp being built around these? Boy you guys here are a humorous group and I am having hard time detecting truth vs sarcasm!
Everything you read here is true (unless Zen Mod says it)
Check out this link for a simple and apparently good sounding amp:
25W Single Ended Hammond 193V Choke Loaded 2SK180 L'Amp
10W into these bad boys (92db) gets room-leaving loud... 12x26' room w/vaulted ceiling peak of 16'. Also, no shortage of sweet bass.
Thanks for the feedback and mini-review...I've been wondering....
Do you plan on posting a more detailed impression on how they sound in the future? I'd be interested.

Here’s a quite enthusiastic first impression, although it might be a bit biased [emoji6] - more impressions further down the thread...
Has the winners for 1st batch been contacted for now?
No

There was a random 1-6 minute delay, but yes an eyebrow raised to anyone who posted in that first minute
Thanks for doing the right thing.
Guilty of excitement and a bit of distrust of the second timer.
But I'm blaming Zen Mod.

I don't see the results.
Thanks mate!
1. Affirmative
2. Affirmative
3. They aren't ready, and "steady as she goes". We might even dribble out the first batch to people so any potential issues can be corrected. It's a lot easier to fix 50 problems than 100, and 100 easier than 200. Especially when international shipping is involved.
The math is strong with this one.
I´m dying hahahaha

m753199, si prega di notare che questo è un forum in lingua ingleseI would keep the two lotteries separate .... otherwise those who participated in the first lottery and were not drawn if they are admitted to the second have two chances of being drawn ..... something that does not happen to people in the second lottery ... ... they are not fished out if they do not win .... Am I wrong !!!! ...... did I misunderstand how the game works? ..
The results are in!
Thank you to everyone who participated in this historic event!

Winners will be contacted at their diyAudio email address no sooner than 24 hours from now with more information about how to purchase. Please check your email address is correct. Once contacted, you will have 96 hours to complete your purchase or let us know you are going to pass, in which case we'll pick another ticket and your invitation will get recycled to them.
Some astute members may notice there are only 88 members listed above. To protect the above members from the emotional trauma of having an irreplaceable shipment of unobtainium not arrive and not be able to be replaced, 2 units have been put aside in case of any problems. Once all shipments have been received, we will pick winners for the remaining units.
For everyone who didn't win this time around, we're sorry you missed out. With just 88 slots and 1,428 entries, it was long odds. You've all automatically been entered into the lottery for round 2. You'll also be given priority for future projects. Round 2 will be announced in a few months time once the dust settles from round 1. There's no more for you to do now, other than to share a big round of virtual beer and commiserations with your fellow 1,340 diyAudio members who are in the same boat.
Thanks again to everyone who entered. It wasn't perfect, but we learned some lessons and will be able to improve in the future. Don't worry if you missed out, we are planning lots more fun and interesting projects for the future.
An email will be sent to everyone who entered, tomorrow.
Many thanks,
Jason
PS Some members have asked for more details about the causes the profits from this offer will go to. I'll include some information in the email.

Epilogue: Some superfluous notes and statistics on process and stats for the numbers people...
The picking process:
- The database was queried to find all members who posted in the lottery entry thread
- The off-site server-overload form entries were scrutinized and valid entries included
- A very small number of members who had genuine entry issues were added
- Every member was issued one ticket
- One additional ticket was issued for every thread in the Pass Labs forum a member had participated in (max one per thread)
- One additional ticket was issued for every year a member had been a donor / paid-up member
- All the tickets (11,717) were then put in a virtual hat
- The Mersenne Twister random number generation algorithm was used to randomly pick the first winner, then remove all that winner's tickets from the hat
- The next 87 winners were selected in the same fashion
Stats:
- Total entrants 1,428
- Tickets at the start 11,717
- Tickets removed 5,965
- Tickets remaining 5,752
Count of members with N tickets (before the lottery / after the lottery):
- 400+: (2 / 0)
- 100 ~ 399: (20 / 4)
- 10 ~ 99: (193 / 141)
- 2 ~ 10: (382 / 369)
- 1: (831 / 826)
We will review how this round went, and reserve the right to make change to the process for round 2.
Once again, thanks for coming
