Haven't had any luck finding a good solution here, so thought I'd ask...
I'd like to add a front panel power switch (rotary 2 position) to my pending F4 amp build
That said, I haven't found any switches yet with a barrel length long enough to handle the 4U chassis's 10mm+ front panel thickness. All mains rated rotary switches I have found support a +/- 5mm max panel thickness.
Any recommendations?
thanks

maybe with a trick.
Take a lorlin rotary Switch. From the datasheet they could handle 250V at 0,15A.
And switch with that Relais, which could handle your mains voltage at the Relais-coil
The Relais (rated at XXX Ampere) then switch your mains.
I thought about to try a similar Setup to Switch on 2 amps.
Because powerswitch is only rated 5A at 250V and i want more for reliabilty.
Any suggestions if this could work save?
I think it should, but i`m not sure

...hoping that perhaps there is a part/ solution out there I just haven't found yet

Look for a potentiometer shaft extender. Contact Steve at Apex Jr. (Apex Jr.Home Page) and ask him if he has one available.
