All: After finding a shorted Motorola 540130-5 8549 T03 power transistor in my trusty Bob Carver pro audio power amplifier, There doesn't seem to be any data available for this device? Suggestions for a suitable substitute? Anyone have a schematic for this amplifier 84 vintage? Thanks in advance!
NPN/PNP comp pair identified!
I can now answer my question. After acquiring the full service document, the 10 output devices are complimentary pairs of NPN, PNP devices more commonly known as: MJ15024 and MJ15025. Earlier units used NEC 2SD555/2SB600 which has a mildier spec. I used an NTE 388 /68 pair after checking out the characterisitics on a curve tracer to make a solid repair!
