I just wrapped up a test build for the TCP115-8 and I find myself very impressed by this little 4" woofer.
Dayton Audio TCP115-8 4" Treated Paper Cone Midbass Woofer 8 Ohm

I built another $30/pr silk purse contestant entry.
I used 1/2" plywood and did a box 10.5"x 5.75" x6" external dimensions, and did an approx 11" long 1.25" port for about 45hz tuning. I am not 100% sure on port length as I used a 3.5", a 7", and a 90 degree elbow to get the port to fit the smallish enclosures.
Tweeter for the test build was a cheap GRS mylar from parts express crossed over with a single 5uf cap I pulled out of a dimmer circuit lol. ( hey, its a good cap!)

I ran them for a few hours sealed as I did not have any PVC pipe for ports and enjoyed the sound in spite of what I suspect is a pretty gaping hole in the mid range. When I added the port the bottom end opened up a ton. I hope to get some measurements tomorrow to see how low they are playing as well as how bad the "only parts laying around" crossover/tweeter ended up working out.
For comparison sake I cannot even say what they stack up against as they are not boomy like my previous $30 entry with (2) 6.5" buyouts per side, but then so far I have only run these off of a 2.5 watt/ch chip amp and a cell phone which is barely moving the cone.

I will get some measurements running off of a TPA3116 and macbook which will be a direct comparison with how I measured the previous entry. I think these warrant a real crossover and a better tweeter though.

Pics have tissue box for size reference.

REW shows things are both much worse and much better than I expected. I expected a large and wide midrange dip as the tweeter is crossed over quite high (5uf on 4 ohm is 8khz iirc) but that is not there. What is there is not very smooth and the distortion seems a bit high?
