Following are the horizontal and vertical polars for KEF LS50 from princeton.edu 3D3A

Though they are better than many other speakers and the horizontal and vertical polar equivalence is admirable (due to coax), they still have narrowing around 5kHz.
Given that crossover is 2.2kHz, what else can be causing that ?
(the other narrowing over 10khz can be ignored)
