IMF Studio Mark I

Just scored a vintage pair of IMF Studio MK I's (free) the originals, however they both need mid ranges, any one experiment with mids other than the Monacor MSH-115?

yeah and these are first edition models with single opening at the bottom, I had some belgium mids laying around and put them in, sound is off the wall good, Power from a Yamaha M4 with C4 preamp.

interesting speaker with the transmission line mid range. I built the Fried C3 kit and they included a copy of C3L plans at the time, but never did build the L box. I did some searching but did not find a cut away or such for the Studio mid line. Anyone know roughly what the shape of the mid chamber is?

If the same as the lines in the TLS50/80 it is a cardboard tube that runs to the back of the enclosure (ie a sealed, 1/2wave TL)

The mid chamber on this pair looks like grey pvc, definitely not cardboard. It extended to the back all the way. The stuffing was one folded piece of fiberglass, the second was a wad of fiberglass and the last piece was a nest of wool fiber.

I thought maybe the smaller port type cutout in the photo in the above link was a mid range line exit.
Jon, what is that extra "port" thing just under the drive units?

this pair doesn't have the extra port under drivers.

OK- maybe there were plans to put the tilt controls there like the RSPM.
