When using 2 woofers in parallel the combined impedance is halved. Which value do you use for the crossover design calculation? The single woofer (eg 8 Ohm) or the halved value (eg 4 Ohm). Can't find a direct reference to this in the Loudspeaker Design Cookbook.

If the xover is going to see 4 ohms, then it would seem intuitive to work with 4 ohms regardless of the individual driver resistance.
I've yet to build an xover though, so wait for confirmation on this ![]() |

That is right. Make for a 4 ohm load.
