Looking to dabble in electronics specifically car and home audio amplifiers. It's something I always wanted to learn but always shied away from because of what is a huge learning curve for me. Working on autos and motorbikes has been my occupation and hobby for many moons and would like to change it up so here I am looking to learn and from what I gather, this is a great place to pick up some do's and don'ts. Thank you.
I once designed an ECU for a Honda 600FSR.
It was an interesting project.
Just a signal in from the crank position sensor and had to output to 4 ignition coils.
I also wrote the PC software for setting up different ignition advances for different RPM.
It was then downloaded into ECU via a serial port.
One advantage was changing of rev limiter RPM setting.

I remember my first attempt at car audio as a very young lad.
I wired up my 8 track and it worked great.
Then smoke started coming from the wiring and it had obviously shorted somewhere. I hadn't fused it !
So I tried ripping out the wiring to disconnect it and one of the wires was red hot and it burnt my hand right across the palm.
