Hi guys, I have this mic preamp:

that has some issues and I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I've recently built a load of the DIYRE pro audio stuff and I'm feeling a bit inspired to fix this, the problem is I can't exactly work out what on earth is going on.

The gain pot is definitely funky so I'll replace that.

But, there is a tone pot that blends the tube section/ss that has been messed with or modded, I have no idea.

The pot itself reads great. But as you can see in the picture, the track to the connector has been scraped/damaged and a wire soldered from the bottom left pin around to the track from the top right pin. I'm not sure if this wire came off when I was dismantling it, but it wasn't on there very sturdily either way and I assume is/was my problem. The first pin on the connector the track leads to gives no reading at all, the second pin looks good and corresponds to the pot readings.

Does anyone have any idea what's supposed to be going on here? Why would that track have been scraped just to solder a wire from the other side of the pot?

Cheers!
