I use the Woden Lance with FF85wk drivers and an SMSL SA-60 amp for my computer, and have made up the same system for my kids' college rooms. But you know what, in the end it isn't so cheap anymore. Drivers, binding posts, Baltic birch ply, and the amp just starts to add up.
And now I have 3 of these systems at home since the kids graduated. One daughter is doing seasonal work with various opera companies and doesn't want to carry it around, the other just isn't interested in anything other than her headphones. In school they were good for parties and for just hanging around with roommates and friends. And they tell me I could have sold them too, but as I said, the cost starts to add up and college kids couldn't afford it.
