Ideal? with 48 VC per enclosure
Why is the number of voice coils a problem?
at $30,000 usd
Not cheap, but this is commercial, product aimed at a specific market. I wouldn't pay that myself for a speaker, especially a line array that (judging by the Stereophile writeup) appears to need LF support, but none of us are part of its target audience.
and isnot even dipole.
Is that a requirement for judging the quality of a line source loudspeaker?
Bob Carver made better in 1990 with the Carver Amazing at $3k.
Better in what particular way? Carver's may well be, but since I haven't examined the specifications for both speakers in detail, I wouldn't know. The number of VCs and monopole radiation are not taken in themselves a guide to quality though.
