Tapatalk was disabled yesterday while I was debugging the server chaos. It updates itself so was an obvious vector for unexpected change. Tapatalk is always an obvious choice to be disabled when trying to diagnose server issues in the usual way of debugging using a process of elimination.
It looks like the problem is very much specific to the search function. Over the last ~16 hours the server has been running like a dream, save for a few blips I caused while testing search issues. I don't think Tapatalk is related.
TLDR; I've just re-enabled Tapatalk. Cheers.
