Much like everyone here, I have amassed a hoard of unused good quality components that will likely never be used.

Is there a Uni or school in the UK I can contact to send bundles of components to, one with a electronics department that could use them?

Perhaps a teacher or student here can advise. All are free, I would rather send to good use than ever throw away!

Listing them here would be a nightmare.

Thanks for any replies.

Check locally for a college, sixth form specialist or one doing vocational qualifications, and ask for the electrical/electronics department. If you know any teachers, ask them for advice.

My local college took all my stuff. You don't show which part of the country you are in.

I run an after school electronics group at my sons school here in Laos (we are making CMoY amps at the moment) and we have a “maker fair” planned for this school year open to all comers and I am planning a project for that too. This kind of gift would be very welcome. My permanent home base is UK but I’m not likely to be there anytime before next summer!!!

I would not bother with uk schools. they just use off the shelf kits. if its not in the curriculum then teachers are not interested. the kids are not interested also. maybe a few out of the entire school. better off finding a more direct way of giving stuff to those that want it. Based on my experience of school... oow 10years ago now! I left at 14years old (cus i could not stand it.).

IDK what uni’s are like. Maybe thats a better route.

Have you heard of hacker spaces? however they do not like being dumped stuff. they get overwhelmed. better off offering on hackerspace mailing lists and seeing what interest is.
