Is there any way to remove this black spot in the LCD screen?

No, this
is a broken lcd Unfortunately.
The liquid crystals are all around.

Your damaged display is a bit 'old school' but you may get a clue here;

Thanks for the info,,, I think displays are available at digi key also,,, I cant see well enough to deal with the small SS chips, parts etc anymore... I was just curious if there was an easy fix, as its a NOS Hickok meter...I'm pretty sure a new display would fix it.... I'll pass it on to some one younger, with better sight!!!!

I find a pair of cheap x2 reading glasses off ebay are good for small pin pitches.
I even managed a TQFP 0.5mm pitch with my glasses.
Without the glasses everything close is just a blurr, old age catching up.

HA,, I hear ya... I'm up to 3.5X just to use the computer,,, Two pair at a time for PP wiring,,, PCBs are near invisible to me!!!! Damn diabetes never stops!!!
