Lower value is minimum power required for proper working
Maximum value is power of new or excellent condition

Just couple of days ago, I have re-opened Shanling CD-T100A which uses VAM1202 because the new laser had about 400µW. I re-adjusted it to 150µW because the 400 figure seemed to have been way too high. And it stopped working with the new, lower power. So I put in the original laser which only had 150µW (and just replaced turntable for it was busted) and it works fine.
But good to know that new ones put out a lot more power (3 x)
It would've saved me a lot of work if I read that last weekend :)
