Low Noise DSP - Summer 2020
Default Low Noise DSP - Summer 2020

Hello,

Active crossovers are increasing in popularity, and present an opportunity for easier access into diy audio. Their comparative simplicity over passives is eclipsed only by the lack of plug and play DSP boards on the market. To this end I'm wondering if folks could recommend a board that matches the following.

Under $200

Able to apply LR4, PEQ, delay

Low noise analog IO (2x4) - suitable for high efficiency (96db+) speakers when used between pre and amp.

Plug and play - no soldering, ready to go software

Regards,
Shawn

I use a great dsp, noisefloor at - 117db but it cost twice your budget. Its the dbx driverack pa2. Minidsp has to much noise

the t.racks DSP 4x4 Mini

Only flaw is that delay is too coarse. I can only get down to 25 cm. But for hifi we need settings much below that at least 2 cm.
I think there actually is a bunch of cheap dsps around

It's made for PA so might not match hifi very well regarding level matching. With correct signal level matching no significant noise should be present.

Default 4 way not 3 way

Hi, any suggestions for 4 way horns?
I'm currently using DCX2496 + a cap for the tweeter, but would like to go 4 ways.

Use good subwoofer amp with build in dsp for sub and the dcx2496 for bass, mid and high.
This setup i used for 10 years.

Unfortunately dcx2496 sells for big money on this side of the pond.
