I found a Chinese supplier with a quantity of AD1862 mono r-2r dacs for $8 each so I ordered 4 to build a balanced current output Dac using IanCanada's I2S to PCM board.
If anyone wants a pcb I will have some spare. The pcb is 60mm x 120mm and requires +& - 12v, data, latch and clock and has no I/V on board.
This is my first attempt so please be kind! The resistors can be 10R or a few uH inductors for the supply rails. Apart from 2 Tants per dac chip, the rest of the components are all supply decoupling for the 12 & 5v (digital) supplies.
Analogue & digital grounds are separate as are the ground planes for star earthing at the power supply.
