Dont know if you guys are still active in this thread but Koon's sample driver has been a good starting point for my project. I am using a ft232h in sync245 mode feeding an artix7 like dip40 Zynq, to stream 18ch out and 24ch in from a Yamaha 01x digital Mixing surface in order to replace the obsolete firewire mLan subsystem.
24 channels USB to I2S interface (with Source codes, ASIO/VHDL/Schematic)
