How to Reseat this Insert

I have a pair of speakers constructed out of MDF. Unfortunately, the splined inserts on one pair have come loose. Any suggestions as how to repair these? Would simply setting them in epoxy work?

I've had good luck with wood putty.

I would use a good epoxy and make sure that none gets into the threads.

If I read the situation correctly, simple PVA will give you more strength than you need.
