I'm currently building a YUsynth modular synthesizer. Already made first PCBs.
Now I was considering different option for the actual housing

I still have this old flight case
Got it for free with my analog scope, but I don't use it, since it's really hard to put inside of it and take back out.

So I had this crazy idea of actually building my system into this thing.
The advantages that I see, is really rugged housing. I don't think a "traditional" cabinet would survive my abuse. The size is just about right for the system I would like.
Also, it would save me some money.

Now the problem is, that's it's built like a tank. I'm not sure I can do the necessary modifications, without compromising the construction or completely destroying it.

The walls are really thick - I would replace one of the walls with just a rack mount rails, to mount the modules on. Then build in the PSU in the

Did some have similar experiences? How would you do it?
