Change input voltage 110v to 220v Crown XLi 1500 amplifier

Good morning all !

I live in French Polynesia and I imported a Crown XLi 1500 amplifier from the USA. Its operating voltage is 120 volts at 60 hertz.

Now I want to run it at 220 volts 60hertz (this is our standard in Polynesia).

I opened the beast to remove the power supply and everything seems to indicate that the components are ready to run at 220 volts (or even 240 volts).

If so, can someone qualified tell me which component should I modify / replace to make the voltage change?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The supply in that amp is designed to run on input voltages up to 265Vrms.

You don't need to do anything. It is a switch mode power supply designed to work anywhere in the world including French Polynesia. Connect it back up in the exact same way it was connected when you looked inside the amp.

The XLI1500 Amplifier is not the switching power supply, it has the toridal transformer inside. If the xfmr input voltage is only one winding for 110Vac input, then you cannot modify to 220Vac except to change this xfmr.
Check it carefully, do not connect to 220Vac DIRECTLY!!

Okay but how do I check to know if the toroidal transformer will support 220 volts?

Ok I got it ! Only 120v.

Finally I will use a 220v / 120v transformer, it will be easier. Thank you all for your help !
