Hello Nisbeth,
On the I/O Control pinout on the Eval board, do you know which pins need to be pulled down (connected to ground) to put modules in Standby? The SW1/2 or control1/2? Only thing left to do, amp works great!

Hi John,
Haven't played with these in a (long) while, but if i'm reading the schematic correctly then sw1/sw2 are for the control signals to the module whereas the control1/control2 connections are for the control pins (if you want to read the module status using an external circuit). The attached snip from the A-series app. note might help explain my conclusion ![]() /U. PS: What do you think about the sound?

I re-read that diagram from eval module manual-
I connected together the two SW pins (pin 5 and pin 6) so both channels go into standby together. When I connect the +12v pin (pin 1) to the connected sw1/sw2 pins the modules successfully go into standby. But when I break that connection, amp remains in standby, and I need to reconnect the +12 and sw pins for the standby to go off. Looks like I need a momentary switch

I think that's right. The supporting circuitry on the eval. board is (as I recall) a flip-flop that toggles with each press of the onboard switch (so an external switch would behave the same way). If you only had the module itself, you'd need a latching switch to hold the control pin in low-state in order to put the module in standby.

I wonder if I can just use a regular switch, and flip it on / off - to activate / deactivate standby (mimick a momentary). Cant see any harm, unless I leave in middle - I could be bypassing the protection circuitry...as it is connected with the standby circuitry...
