I fixed 2 channels. Now with current limit the rail voltage fluctuates. With full current its steady> but< several 2n5551,2n5401 drivers and several 47ohm resistors get hot.
These are the original, replacement and test results. Possible incompatible issue..

I can't find the non-N. Order from several suppliers and they all send n-version. I found a 2n5551 leaking and a 2n5401 shorted. Rail voltage is stable now. When full current is applied without limiter, current shoots up 14 + amps. Did not let it idle long. Not sure if it will idle back down..
The Original 1st build. Black with the caboose. I have had it about 12yrs. Unfortunately my son kept asking to use it and blew it. I replaced the 1 new blown irf540n. Now i have 25v. On the left rear output. "Almost Done Again"!!😃 This is my 3rd time repairing!! Started fixing amps in 1991.

Thanks. I appreciate the offer.
I've got 2 IRF540's - no N - that I could send you if it would help.
I turned the pots all down. Idle current went from appx. 2.8v to appx. 1.6v.. 25v speaker out fixed.
+Rail= 45.5v -Rail=48.9v
(3 of 4 irf540n had leaked). The same 2n5551& 2n5401 still get hot after a while? Have tested everything many times over the years.. Any help to "Finally fix this heat issue" I would greatly appreciate.
