That's unlikely to be possible. One reason would be that a head unit without a USB port isn't likely to have the dedicated 5v regulator that would be required to power the USB devices.
Using a different face is generally only possible for a head unit made in the same series (year model). Even then, there's no guarantee that all of the features of the non-matching face will work.
