Hifonics amp

Im repairing a hifonics amp which uses A1275 and C3228 drivers for the power supply Can i swap them out with Bd139 and Bd140? If so do they ace the same direction or do i have to flip them around?

I commonly use those as drivers. The pin configuration is the same so you don't need to install them facing the opposite direction.

Reolaced the Orginal power supply fets (DFP70N06) with RFP70N06 replace gate resistors replaced the drivers. Outputs are out of the amp.

Amp still draws excessive current. Heres what i have for the gates

If it's set to 2v/div, it's probably OK.

Have you tried pulling the rectifiers?

Precisely what is the model number?

Ill try pulling the rectifiers .

The amp is a Hifonics BXI 2008D

The scope was set at 10 us .5 volts div

I's it the black case/chrome end amp?


I'v got one of them on the shelf, could be rebuilt, but it's not really worth it, if you need that amp to help fix yours, let me know, I only have like $7 or $8 total in it.

Pulled the rectifiers amp powers up and idle's perfectly

Are the rectifiers leaking or shorted?

Shorted rail caps?

Intermittently shorted transformer?

I noticed a broken leg on 2 of the rectifiers i resoldered them and put them back in amp is idling perfect now. Now to put the outputs back in and test for audio
