New carsetup under construction and a friend of mine has a a/d/s 310px subwoofer for sale. I know it was darn expensive at its days but I didn't find that much information and user comments on it with google. Here's the use manual I found:

Overally driver looks impressive, it has very modern underhung motor and so on but is it still good at todays standards?
According to parametres it looks to fit pretty nicely to about 40 litres closed cabinet. I have a DLS CAD1000 monoamplifier to deliver power for it:

Good power delivery, should handle 2x3 ohm coils well, has good adjustments in crossover frequency, order and phasing. Also has level adjustmentpot in the dash which is nice.
I thought to place the sub behind the skihole in the trunk. With the rear seat armrest down it should have pretty good clearance to inside. Midwoofer is very propably going to be Seas new L16RNX:

In a 5 litres or so closed cabinet in front doors. It makes about 0,7 Qtc for this driver.
That's pretty much it for the sub-midwoofer apartment. What do you think?

What kind of car or truck is this going in and how are you building a closed cabinet in the front doors? What frequency do you intend to crossover from the midwoofer to the subwoofer?
The ADS and Seas drivers appear to be good choices. It is hard to say more than that without more information about the installation you plan to do.

I don't want to put the sub just in the trunk so it has to be connected to passanger apartment. For 10" sub like the a/d/s there is the skihole at the rearseat which I can use. It's about 22x26cm size and there is quite adequate space behind it for 40 litres closed cabinet.
But like I asked: should I really consider the a/d/s, is it still good today? Naturally I wouldn't pay 2000 euros or so what it cost here new but something like 150-200 euros.
C4 has small vented cabinets on front doors from the factory and I can use some of them for bigger midwoofers. Part of the cabinet has to be rebuild for more space (4,5-5 litres for L16 should be possible) and the whole thing has to be reinforced. Naturally freeair is one possibility but it's always leaking and therefore doesn't give best cone control compared to solid closed. Most pure car drivers are designed to freeair and therefore it's the only possibility but L16 is a home driver and it's cabinet requirements are decent.
For midrange I thought of this MCA12RC Seas 4" unit:

Zaph-Audio has measured most of them. Actually not the mid but the midwoofer and tweeter and for their intended frequencyresponse they should be pretty good. Naturally they need proper installation to gain full potential. Midranges have nice space on the dash. Thought to use freeair there and stack some damping material behind them. Tweeter somewhere close as well.
You also asked about the crossover frequences. I thought of 60-80Hz cross between midwoofer and subwoofer, DLS CAD1000 has 24dB/oct crossover on it's own and it's possible to use similar order for midwoofers highpass. Midwoofer-midrange cross can be between 250Hz and 500Hz. Should be rather nice overlap area and gives some playground to experiment. This also applies to midrange tweeter cross while cross can be somewhere between 2000Hz and 5000Hz. Crossover order can also be adjusted, which ever sounds best.
I also thought to stack the L16 directly on the dash and use simpler 2-way setup with subwoofer but this runs the playground a lot smaller since crossover frequences and orders are pretty much stuck on certain numbers. But I don't know would it still be better solution over more complicated 3-way + sub configuration.
What do you think?
