In 2018, the EU banned the use of single-use plastics by 2021 across the board.
The plastic used to make LPs, polyvinyl chloride (aka PVC or vinyl), is one of the more toxic plastics to manufacture and dispose of. Worse still, making an LP from vinyl is an energy-hungry business.
Green Vinyl Records (greenvinylrecords.com) is developing an environmentally friendly production process based on injection molding instead of pressing. Environmentally friendly materials will replace PVC and energy savings of over 60% are claimed.

Thanks for the info but it's too late. I drank the Koolaid. I'm presently waiting for my next Christmas present from Phonocut. I hope it includes a lump of vinyl and not coal!
