Thorens TP-95 headshell

Hi all,

My first post here. Does anyone know how to remove/replace lead cables in Thorens Tp-95 headshell?


The wires are connected / likely soldered in inside the capsule, does the other end (the last image) come out somehow.

A lot of this style of connector are crimped pins that slide into the body and a spring leaf engages to hold them put. Expensive extrator tools are typically used to rework a pin, basically a very hard thin walled tube exactly the right dimensions to fit around the pin and
inside the hold in the connector body.


Given this is almost certainly custom, and extractor tool, if feasible, would have to be fashioned somehow. Alternatively the whole connector might be compressed/crimped
as well making it unservicable.


Can you get better close ups of the face of the connector and the reverse of the connector,
proper macro shots basically...

Thorens bits Do come apart. It's a skill testing exercise though.. Have fun
