yet another new member introduction ...

Greetings!

Although I am just now registered as a member, I have been reading posts here for quite some time. Presently, I am an undergraduate student at Washington University in St. Louis, studying physics. My interest in DIY audio stems from three sources: my love of baroque and early music, my desire to learn electronics, and my realization that I will probably never have enough money to buy good audio equipment 🙂.
Unfortunately, due to lack of time and funding, I have not yet been able to do much DIYing; all that I have completed is one channel of a Pass' Zen amplifier. I look forward to doing more in the future (and to eventually have an all-DIY system).

Thanks to the current members for maintaining such a useful and informative forum!

It's downright rude!

Evidently nobody looks at the introductions page...

I'm with you on all counts. My aspirations constantly exceed my income, I enjoy baroque music, and making everything is satisfying. I did once have a system where everything but the cartridge was home-made, and I was looking at how an electrostatic cartridge might be made, but concluded that it was beyond the scope of a power drill. (The home-made headphones caught fire, but I soon noticed.)

We're still waiting for more information for your RIAA.
