Instead of polishing the disc with alcohol, then finishing it off with a "staticky" dry cloth- use Armour-All. I have treated several discs with this stuff, and the music seems to relax a bit more "lose it's edginess."
this was a bit of a fad a few years ago,it was in stereophile etc...turns out it's not so healthy for your cd's,can't remember how exactly but in the long term it can permanently damage or destroy your discs!this stuff is nasty and not much good for anything, including the dashboard in your car..armour all on cd's is sort of an accepted no no these days!
I used this stuff on some disc way back .....without any problems the discs are still ok. I stopped as I could not really hear the difference. As opposed the the green marker that does work.
Having a 'puff' or two can bring out details in music that you've never noticed before... even on the most incomprehensibly bad sound system 😀Fin said:Just drinking the alcohol helps everything "lose it's edginess".![]()

I wonder how many "listener tweaks" can actually make music sound better... things like having a comfortable listening chair/sofa/beanbag, decent lighting, and other things...
Go ahead, bub.........!
Put that stuff all over your CDs. Don't whine to us when they turn a milky colour, and won't play. Stereophile is lucky to still be around after they duped their readers into falling for this.
