I have a Yamaha AX700 which has been sitting in a closet for years. When I plugged it in and turned it on there was some crakling - not from the speakers, from inside the electronics. I tried turning it off an on several times and the crakling stopped. Then some sort of liquid started to bubble out of the one part of the amp. I have attached a picture with an arrow indicating where the liquid is coming from. The liquid is yellowish. I had it hooked up long enough to play some music through the amp and it works great. I'm assuming the bubbling is not supposed to happen - also there is a terrible smell when this happens. Any thoughts . . . Thanks!

Seems to me your power supply capacitors have come to the end of life, you should replace those, the residue will damage the board. Its not the cheapest of parts though, but if they fail completely you are not going to like the results.

Any electronics supplier would most probably have, but to replace youd have to know some basic electronic principles and how to handle a soldering iron otherwise I would recommend you to take it to a repair shop or someone with some electronic knowhow. If you want the amp to keep its good sonic attributes youd have to replace the parts with some high grade parts which would be more expensive. Prices vary consideribly and yamaha would have used a higher grade when they manufatured this amp. Doing it youself or by a friend will save you a lot of money you can spend instead on high grade caps.
