Does anyone know how I can fit an XLR connector into the end of a homemade microphone? Switchcraft makes one that fits handily into the end of a 1" pipe, but it costs a less-than-reasonable $11.
You can probably just take a chassis mount socket, cut the mounting plate off of it with a hacksaw, and epoxy it in place.
Personally, since even a chassis mount socket is $2-3, I would never do it because my spare time is worth a lot more than $8 to me.
