Wonderful forums 🙂
Okay, I have an Xbox with the Xboxmediaplayer - is it viable to hook this beast up to a DIY projector and watch movies? If so, what cables would I need to get the picture out WITH the sound too?
Has anyone managed to secure the parts needed for the DIY projector in the UK? If so, any recommendations specifically for the UK? Most of the LCD panels only seem to be for sale in the USA on EBAY 🙁
Or, has anyone built one in the UK ready to sell directly complete (obviously for a building charge!) - only because I always manage to break everything I open! 😉
Thank you!

COPY DVDS!!?? oh no!! who would do such a thing!? 😉 yeah I also use ps2 divx to rip music videos from tv and kinda make a library of em. I think the ps2 divx plays back way better quality than my computer.

haha yeah thats what i hear people are doing... i dont do either.. its bad. I tried 5.02 but it had that stupid water mark in the corner and im to lazy to crack it. I think im using 5.01 er wait maybe it is 5.02 which ever one is before the watermarked codec..
Fathead, in order to get sound out of your x-box while its hooked up to a lcd panel you have to plug the 2 audio cables from the x-box (White & Red) and plug them in the back of a receiver.
Some panels (most of the Sharp QA series) have a built in speaker and built in jacks that have audio input and output..but mine is very fussy, so I need to jiggle the cord around alot 😀
Ya, I have a Sharp Qa-1800 with a built in speaker. That wouldn't be very much fun to have a 8ft tv with 1 little mono speaker though would it 🙂 I said to hook it up to a receiver because most people would want more then the one little speaker. If you dont have a receiver though, you could always settle for the mono sound I guess 🙁
