Hey everyone,
I'm here to sell "the big three". These are considered probably three of the most popular hi-fi/mid-fi headphones on the market today. They consist of the Sennheiser H650 recabled with SilverDragon V3 cable, the AKG K701 (fully burned to 350 hours), and the Beyerdynamic DT990 (250ohm version here).
RULES and INFO
Sennheiser HD650 w/ SilverDragon V3 Cable - $600
These HD650's are almost brand new. I bought these in July of 2011 and have used them for somewhere between 250-300 hours. The drivers have tons of life left in them, thousands and thousands of hours. I'm including the original cable, as well as the original 1/4 to 1/8th adapter (not pictured!) These are in mint condition. The silver cable was built by myself, using all the same components that Moon Audio uses to build theirs. Its 5ft long to ensure you aren't getting extra noise from lengthy cables for optimum listening clarity. They really make a huge difference, it was one of the only times I'll say an upgrade was "night and day" and lifted the veil on these.
AKG K701 - $260
These K701's are very brand new. I bought these in August of 2011 and they have seen very little use. I burned them in for 12 days on pink noise and frequency sweeps. All together they've seen about 350-400 hours, 335 of which were spent on my desk burning in. So like I said, you're buying a brand new headphone in opened packaging that has been burnt in for you. These are the most detailed headphones I've ever heard. If you're looking for a detail and clarity king, these are them. They have an amazing soundstage as well, wider and bigger in general than any other headphone albeit the AD700 but they are very close. Like the HD650's, these are also in mint condition. I take care of my headphones both inside and out, so you can trust they are going to feel like buying new. These include the 1/4" to 1/8" adapter.
Beyerdynamic DT990 (250ohm) - $160 (nostalgia settling in, not sure if going to sell)
These were my first headphones that got me into the high end "mid-fi". These compete closely with the K701 and HD650, and sound amazing doing it. They have detailed highs, and full bass with slightly recessed but smooth mids, and its a great sound signature for listening and especially watching movies. These headphones have a surprisingly large soundstage as well, and everything is quite transparent. These headphones are in nearly mint condition (NO problems NO scratches NO dents, they're just a year old) and were purchased in August 2010. They have seen probably 500 hours of use, and have a lot of life left. They will come with the leather carrying case for travel which has a small scratch on the front face from use. I'm very apt to holding on to these since they have been my "buddies" for over a year now. It would take some convincing for me to sell these quickly. These also comes with a 1/8" to 1/4" adapter.
Let me know if you need any more information about any of these headphones. I hope to hear from you soon!
