As in a Half Chang with a subwoofer compartment grafted onto the back? Yes, I fooled with a similar idea myself a while back, although I went with side-firing drivers.
I would recommend hearing a half chang first, if you haven't. There is considerable bass output. I have never seriously ponderred a sub or helper woofer when listenning to the changs I built, and I love loud music. I really can't imagine a need for it. If you're willing to build something that deep, why not go tall instead and do the full chang?
