Hi,
I accidentally shorted one of the analogue output pins on a WM8740 to ground (for a few minutes). These pins don't just carry the music signal, they float at AVDD/2 which is 2.5V.
Does it have any kind of current limiting? Am I likely to have damaged it in some way? Having corrected the short, music is coming out so it has survived... Looking at the block diagram in the datasheet, there's a low-pass filter (switched-capacitor I think) between the actual DAC and the outside world, so hopefully this has some kind of significant output impedance that will limit current flow.
I'm just looking for some reassurance here. 🙁
Thanks,
Glenn
