Can someone please confirm the pinouts on an ALPS RK27 pot. I have never used one before. You would think it would be the easiest thing in the world to google but I am having trouble.
Is 3 an input, 2 the wiper (or output) and 1 a ground?
If so, do I connect the coax shield to 1 then tie them together?
Or, I have read elsewhere that people connect the coax shield at the input connector end and then leave it open at the other end?
Anyone have experience with these pots?
Thanks

3=in, 2=out,1=ground. Whether you connect the screen together here or at the amplifier input is down to your design.
I connect the screen wires to the amplifier and keep them separate on the pot. That saves any earth loops.

Thanks guys, I think I was (am) getting confused because you have a coax coming in with left and right channels and a shield - the left and right go to pin 3 of each resistor but you are left with choosing a side for the one shield to go to (on pin 1)? Same with the output side to the amp.
