Hi,

has anyone compared the Wima FKP and MKS with Evox Rifa PFR / MMK film caps?

The application is in an external DAC (both power board and DAC boards).

Just wondering if either of them had any significant sonic signature?? 😕

Many thanks for your thoughts!! 🙂

Can anyone explain the difference between Wima FKP and MKP to me? Both are polypropylene - the page for the FKPs says they are self-healing and able to withstand extremely large pulses. None of those strike me as especially important for AC coupling in audio applications. Am I mistaken?

FKP = solid film/foil
MKP = metallized

You will clearly notice the the difference in weight when you hold them in your hands.

BTW, MKP4s are single-sided metallized, MKP10s are double-sided. Prefer the latter if
if capacitance and space are sufficient but FKPs are too big.

I love sound in dac 24bit ... power dac filter

100µF elna silmic II + 1µF wima mks + 10nf ceramic cap

This arrange very good for car audio ... vocal very fantastic ... bass fantastic & hi range is Relaxing

fkp is very Earache... Because I'm in my car near Tweeter...

tanks .
