I've bought stuff off them in the past.... it would be sad to see them go as it will be another nail in the coffin for DIY audio in the UK.
It seems the owners are retiring so the business is up for sale. The sale particulars I saw suggest that the business could be made more profitable, so I guess that might mean price rises.
Wilmslow needs a shot of new blood. They have been around forever... i bought stuff from them in 1975.

new website, ecommerce capability, some new products, possibly a 'guest' designer and a way of differentiating from Falcon accoustics who have filled the gap wilmslow should have moved into. All possible but needs bravery.
before the wibbly wobbly web they were the go to company. Been in business for over 40 years. But had some hard times recently.

Beat ya there Dave.... I bought a pair of Goodmans TwinAxioms 8's in -73...😉
EDIT : One should not really judge a company by the looks of there website...there are plenty of flashy looking sites that are all just plain bollocks, not to mention all the scammers out there...
I haven't bought any thing from Wilmslow in a couple of decades, mainly because I haven't done anything speakerwise in the same period. They used to be a very reliable setup, and I haven't seeen any no-no's either, since the net came around...

I'd actually be interested in this. I'm moving toward wetting up a company doing a similar thing but with a more modern outlook. Wilmslow have a good reputation for the most part although they may have taken a few wrong turns of late and a few complaints have started to crop up on the net bit I'm sure these are isolated incidents.
The money they are asking may be a bit steep but I have put in an enquiry for details of the sale and may be tempted if a favourable deal can happen. Who knows.

It's economics I refer to, not the cause. Perhaps not a good time to try and launch a new / revamped business, in the midst of economic uncertainty.
"Economic lunacy" is not an economic situation, but a comment on the proximate cause of an economic situation and therefore a political remark.
"Economic uncertainty" is fine - we can all agree on that!

You mis-attribute my meaning. The lunacy I refer to is the irrational behaviour of markets...
OK. I accept your explanation.gpauk said:The lunacy I refer to is the irrational behaviour of markets...
I don't think pedantry is the issue. Just trying to avoid drawing the attention of the Mods.
