Im Trying to put together a more or less classic guitar preamp with a classic distortion stage. Utilizing several Ideas I have seen on the web, Ive Pieced together About what im looking for.
The Million $$ Questions A: Will the power supply I Selected power it.
And B:
Output of the preamp Will pulg into the effects loop/Power amp input.
But Im not sure about the impedances.
Thought If Possible Someone could take a look And See what They Think or perhaps any advice to changes.

The stages I am trying to use are from an amplifier I Own, The First 2 stages left to right provide a very clean classic tone, The Third stage produces a classic distortion Effect.
I love the sound of the current amp, But, Im trying to isolate the preamp stages for use in a hybred amd as well as for use in a lower power project.
The Current amp utilizes a quad of el34s pumping out 100w.
Im hoping to duplicate this sound on something around 40-50w as well as give a nice warm tube sound to a buddies SS Amp.

according to quick look at schmtc, this is almost classic Marshall thingie.
doubled triodes will give ya little less noise , more muscles 😉 .........
my advice is-look at your present amp (if I understood correctly each stage has just one triode stage and you are willing to use double ) ,use double riode systems for every stage but use half value for Rk and half value for Ra ;
only in that case you'll have mentioned benefits.
in any case-halved values are in case when you have shared resistors between two triode systems .
in my opinion, something is gained only with separate Rk-s , but Ra- s you can freely share between systems.
regarding PS- why not.........boiled water 😉)

Hi,
I read back over the original schematics, And then back over the artwork Ive been working on In Paint.
I Marked off the known functional layouts in red, Added an optional 3rd stage layout in blue.
Everything outside the colored boxes is pretty much standard practice kinda stuff.

Principally, my greatest concerns were in the power supply & the output/input impedances when I dump the output of this S*cker into a diferent Amp.
Ive never reviewed any marshall amp schematics, Pesonally, I always found them rather muddy and lacking distinction.
( Lets say the 2 I tried anyways)
This is my first actual tube project in 25 years, I guess im doing it kind of backwards Seeing as I have already created a PCB layout and Parts layout for whats drawn. But,, everythings a pretty easy edit If i need to change anything.
Before I move on to actually doing anything on the output stages.
Id like to get this working.

Very strange treble/bass/mid-section, if you put "MID" to minimum you vil short the signal to ground

Interesting,
The on original amp, The Treb, Bass and Mid seem extremely effective. The drawning I posted follows the original schematic on those controls perfectly.
Guess I'll find out soon enough, Im ready to etch the board.
Perhaps a week from now I'll ave more info.
