will this Metal Halide setup work??

This is my first post. I've done a whole lot of reading. I'm using a 15" Viewsonic LCD. Double layer Fresnel. A few questions:

Will this work well?

Second, What size lens should I get? I hear that a triplet lens is good to use.

Can I just make a box like this:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
