Wich tweeter (seas 27tff ) ?

I want to buil an 2 way speakers (100w/6,8 ohms) .
Wich tweeter shoud i use ?.I don't want to use aluminium-magnesium because they have a metallic sound and they colour the sound.
I want to choose between 27TDC 27TDC/TV , 27TDF ,27tdfc , 27tff (most linear ,little cheap), 27tffc and 29TFF/W .

Catalin I'm afraid you are misguided - metal tweeters do not sound any more like metal than silk tweeters sound like silk. That's really just an old myth that keeps rearing its ugly head.

The SEAS 27TBFC/G aluminum/magnesium tweeter is one of the best tweeters at any price - just read

Zaph has used it in at least two of his designs, the SEAS L18 and the BAMTM. I own this tweeter and couldn't be happier.

Speaking of which, you haven't said what speaker you want to build, which makes recommending anything pretty much impossible.

By the way, if you really feel you must avoid metal, the other SEAS tweeters you refer to can certainly be considered, but of course that depends on your project. The SEAS Prestige line is a very high value offering.

Ok Catalin so you have a pair of speakers with a metal dome tweeter that you feel is bad. How do you know that it is the metal dome that is casuing the problems?

How do you know that it isn't the motor system that is inferior? How do you know that it isn't the midrange that is crossed high and casue the problem?

Just some food for thought! 🙂

Because the highs is almost inexistent after 8-9 khz .It is colouring(high amplitude) some frequencies(I made a sweep test ).The sound don't have presence ...detail on highs

But how do you know that it depends on the material that the dome is made of?

I'm trying to tell you in a nice way that you are likely wrong in your assumption. 🙂

There are metal dome tweeters with exceptionally good performance.

Its a decent tweeter with a good report from Zaph :

Most designs use the C version (additional chamber)
so you are stuck somewhat for done designs.

Though it should not be too difficult to substitute
into other designs if you do have all the data.
