The TPA3106 from TI looks great for active speakers.
Considering the power consumption and easily implemented voltage between 12v and 24v, i don´t see any class d amps that could get so much power out of 8 ohm-speakers.
The 'application note' in its datasheet looks quite simple.
Why are the chinese not producing any boards with it?
Tiny boards in the 10$ range would be awesome.
They would sell like hotcakes.

This is half of a tpa3116d2 which DO sell like hot cakes. Not sure if we need a mono version of the same chip. In mono PBTL mode the 3116 gets 100w per channel.
As a guess.. they would have to buy (yikes!) the 'real' chips. The TPA3106 from TI looks great for active speakers.

Likely there are No fakes available in China for pennies... as Yet.
Just imagine the design/build quality of a $10 chinese 'amp' 🙂
I don't think it is a matter of fake chips. TI's class D amps when purchased in huge quantities are probably under $1 ea. The popular YJ TPA3116D2 "Danzz Blue/Black" retails for $20 via YJ's website but can be bought for $11 in China. That is a real 3116 chip based on listening impressions and measurements. Also, faking one of those chips is a futile effort given how much capital goes into making a fab line for a tiny SMD chip like that. A fake chip that small won't work unless you put the same amount of R&D and $ into it like TI.
This chappie out in the wilds of Sichuan is doing a bare PCB for it on Taobao - TI hifi TPA3106 DÀàË«ÉùµÀ¹¦·Å 2*40W PCBÎļþ¼°ÔÀíͼ×ÊÁÏ-ÌÔ±¦Íø

back then there was more easy money in Tripath I guess, today we have newer design chips.

I played a bit with the TPA3106D1 and I like it over the TPA3116.

i own that, too.
but it is 100W only into a 2 Ohm load.
for 8 ohmers 3106 looks great in the datasheet.
power into 4 ohm load 3106 has maximum 25w. Signal to noise 3106 is max 98dB, snr 3116 is max 102dB, distortion level 3106 is always above 3116. noiselevel 3106 is twice 3116. operation frequency tpa 3106 is between 200khz and 300 kHz, tpa3116 between 376khz and 1278 kHz, meaning outputfiltering for 3116 is easier to keep outside audioband 20khz.
but basicly it is a 2007 vs 2012 chip 😀
