just want a play toy - instead got a PC105-8 - its in a crude 8 liter cardboard box reflex w. toilet paper form vent Sims say that's pretty flat. There are weak cardboard braces, double thick walls, baffle area is 3X thick - - don't have any stuffing (isn't any where I'm at) Horrible sound but not been able to crank it so may improve. Dull with spike on top, farty bass. A slot lens would help a bit.
In the same volume cardboard box with a smaller LaVoce, I did a pure BS "BLH" with useless 1/4 wave path, then ML reduced mouth size in a few seconds by ear - then a rough steak knife cut slot filter over the driver - that one is better 😱
Ideally I want something small which can play Chet Atkins recordings convincingly at decent (room filling and dynamic) levels w/o fake "bass".

I get you.
Just something about time alignment / full range drivers.
I’ve moved, different setup, especially no carpeting (very loud).
I’m curious to retry an 8” in a big ported box.
High intelligibility and a squeak of bass maybe 13’ away, for low volume late night movie listening.
Still need my jbl, listened to saliva “click click boom” today about as loud as a 12” 2-way will go.
