Hello all,
I have this old Telefunken TS860 direct drive turntable which hasn't been used for a long time. It has a bad needle/cartridge (it distorts) which is as old as the turntable itself (20 years, probably more). The rest of the turntable is OK, so I'd like to bring it back to life by replacing the cartridge.
Unfortunately I don't have the manual anymore so I don't know what the mass of the tonearm is and therefore I'm not sure which cartridge would suit it well. I am attaching a picture and i'd like to ask you to help me determine if this is a low-, medium- or high-mass arm?
Would the AudioTechnica AT95E or AT110E or Goldring Elektra be a good choice for this turntable?
As you can see, I don't have much experience in this field, so your input will be appreciated.
Thanks.

From the looks I would guess the arm is rather medium mass. Since today's MM cartridges are usually rather low compliance (compared to the 80ies models) I think any regular MM will do nicely.
With kind regards, Hannes
PS: the AT95 is great value for the money!
