Is it easy to add SPDIF/Optical in to 3116 board?
Edit:
Grabbed a cheap FIIO D3 to go with the TPA 3316 2.1 Board. I figured one thing at a time and it would be easiest to wire up my 1st amp and play around it before trying to mess with more things. I have my doubts about running the sub, but it's similar to the 2.1 system I ran in my old truck off an Alpine PDX-5 amp. The fronts felt like they got 50w+RMS, but the sub channel rated at 3-400RMS felt like 200w RMS tops. I guess I can research for a couple weeks or whatever it takes them to ship.
Hi,
I'm looking at various 3116 digital amp boards, and was wondering if anyone knows if it's easy to add SPDIF/optical input so that I can run optical from my computer directly to the amp. I've heard that it's not needed and won't add much anything to sound quality. Is that true?
Will adding a DAC be only my option? It's mostly for convenience, but I guess I could add one with headphone amp and make it worthwhile.
Also is using one of the standard 2.1 dig amp boards a good idea? I ask because I read a review where someone had issues when the bass would hit and the 2 main speakers would get quieter. Is it better to go with a single 3116 2 channel or will the the 2.1 work fine at say 30 watts to the main and 75ish to the sub. I've been looking at 4 ohm speakers and a 4 or 2 ohm sub to test.
This is what I have so far...
Speakers: JBL N24AWII (75rms @8ohm) until I figure out what to replace them with.
Subs: dual 6.5" subs (75wx2 rms @?) or use a different board with pre out to a powered subwoofer?
I have several power bricks from laptops etc.
Besides the right power brick, a case, and connectors, is there anything else I will be needing.
These are 2 I saw that look like they come from the same OEM. Will either work or do I need to look elsewhere.

It's amazing what these things can do. Thanks for any advice and mods please move thread if in the wrong location.
