Where to put the crossover in cabinets ?

I'm building my first speakers (Amiga).
Where should I put the crossover PCB?

And how would I be able to replace/repair the crossover if something fails?
Have no idea how to make an access panel or something similar?
Don't like the idea of a removable (entire) back panel.

Any help would be appreciated!

I keep my crossovers outside and attach the output of the crossovers with 4mm banana plugs to the drivers in the cabinet.

Many (most?) commercial small-box designs use the access gained by removing the bass driver. The crossover is then mounted on the rear panel from the inside.

Or was your question more subtle than that? 😉

No need to re-invent the wheel.

Let other's choices be your guide. Where do most people put their crossovers in commercial products and construction projects?

Usually access to the interior of a speaker starts with removing the woofer.

Then I have to split the crossover PCB because the current design is 1cm too wide to fit through the woofer hole 🙂

But it still looks like a better way then a removable back/bottom...

You should pass this info back to the designer, so he can make corrections.
