I am moving to an external power supply, where can I get those great XLR looking power connectors with 4 pins?
I am interested in chassis mount male connectors, and the female connectors that I can put onto a cable.
Lastly, what is some good cable to go with this stuff?

You probably mean the Neutrik Speakon series.
It´s usually intended for PA applications but you can push as much as 30A through it. Resistance is <3mOhm!
The 4pin chassis coupling costs about 2.50€ and the plug 4.50€.
A nice price for a great product.
You can also use the Neutrik PowerCon series but that only has 3pins.

Just seen you obviously mean the ones Peter is using.
Indeed they look like 4pin XLR´s.
But have a look at the Neutriks as well.
They´re so nice they almost tempt me to build more gainclones.😉

another alternative to a great connector is amphenol type they come in a power and signal series as well as plastic or metal housings.

do you mean these? this is the maplin website. http://www.maplin.co.uk/products/module.asp?CartID=03042412285336&moduleno=997&modulecode=
On some of his gainclones at least Peter is using CB microphone connectors. Not all are created equal, but some of these are very nice.
I would guess the better Neutrik ones are higher current.

Neutric might be better (although pins on those CB connectors look very tough), but what I like about those microphone connectors is their small size (and matching price)😉
I get them from: http://www.e-sonic.com/electrosonic/home.asp

Ive been buying Nuetrick from Markertek.com
Switcraft also does a 4 pin XLR, but the Nuetrik is supperior.
Im sure the pins will carry enough current for a gainclone aplication, but they are much skinnyer on the XLR-4 than on a normal Mic connector.
They also make a 2 pin connetor for power aplications that is beefy, but not enough pins.
